A man with three daughters has many worries, opens the story of Rostislav Kazlov, third in line in his family’s dynasty of Ganaego’s strongest men. And worries, especially about his youngest daughter Zoya, who is on her second ill-fated marriage, are what keep Rostislav awake at night. “Atlas, Three Score and Ten” appears in the Spring 2025 issue of the Beloit Fiction Journal. The BFJ is a highly regarded journal with a distinguished pedigree. I am flattered that “Atlas” was chosen to be one of the thirteen stories selected from a pool of 1100 submissions.

Your latest publication is wonderful. In only a few all-too-short pages, your characters came alive. The old but still creative father, the rebellious third daughter, her lively offspring and the ghostly mother, all are etched deeply in my memory. Thank you for writing and for sharing it. You are a genius.
